Madrid Surprise Proposal at the Parterre Gardens (Retiro Park) | Alex & Laura

This one still makes me smile. It was the end of September, one of those warm late-summer evenings in Madrid where everything feels soft and golden. Alex had it all planned, and Laura truly had no idea.

They started with a quick boat ride on the Retiro lake, and I took a few discreet photos from afar while they enjoyed the moment. Then they walked over to the Parterre Gardens in Retiro for the surprise proposal, and right at sunset he got down on one knee.

Her reaction was priceless — happy tears, total shock, the kind of moment you can’t fake. And the sweetest part is that they’re both from Germany, but Madrid is home for them now, so it felt extra meaningful doing it here.
